Specially designed for the purpose - our Windjammer® give the most effective wind-noise protection available
Secure and snug fitting, using a draw-string and toggle
First introduced and invented by Rycote in 1987, we are the original makers of first-class Windjammer

Description

The Windjammer first introduced by Rycote is a high quality synthetic fur-cover, which provides the highest possible protection against extreme wind-noise. When using a Windjammer fitted over a Windshield up to 50 dB of wind-noise attenuation can be achieved, producing excellent standard audio recordings.

Each Windjammer fits one size of windshield, and comes supplied in every Modular Windshield Kit. Windjammer® is also available in sizes to fit Stereo Windshields, Softies & Baby Ballgags, please see their relevant product family for details.

The Windjammer is made from materials which are specially designed and manufactured for the purpose, and as a result has virtually no adverse effect on High-Frequency. To be totally effective it is important that the pile of the Windjammer® remains in prime condition, so each is supplied with a fold flat hairbrush for ongoing maintenance. Click here for care instructions.

Standard Windjammer is fitted with a drawstring and toggle to allow snug and easy fitting, however some users prefer the zipped version which are available on request.

In addition, its placement is relatively unimportant, making it suitable for the rather inexperienced or hasty user. Set-up is quick and easy, because only a single stand and cable are required and the capsule distance and the offset angle of the capsules to each other don’t need be adjusted.
