Main Benefits:

  • 11' Boom Pole for Location Sound
  • Suits Multi-Camera or Wide-Angle Shots
  • Multi-Layer, Pull-Wind Carbon Tubing
  • Internal 5-pin Mono XLR Cable
  • Stiff & Well-Balanced
  • Comparably Lightweight at 24 oz
  • Boom Collapses to 34" in One Piece
  • Stainless Steel 3/8" Thread
  • Included Screw Locks

Overview

The boom itself is fashioned out of multi-layer pull-wind carbon tubing with a wall thickness of 1.55 mm, giving you a stiff and well-balanced pole. This allows you to pivot, swing, and aim a microphone in a controlled manner.

The QP480 includes an internal 5-pin mono XLR straight ultra-thin cable; this cable sports both effective shielding and a polyurethane insulation, thus ensuring a durable, flexible operation—even in temperatures as low as -40°C (-40°F). At the tip of the boom is a stainless steel 3/8" thread for attachment to shockmounts. Screw locks provide greater security.

The box contains one 21/22 Single Baseball and a Baseball Windjammer. The Baseball greatly reduces the ‘swooshes’ (unwanted noise artifacts caused by laminar airflow across the mic) induced by fast boom swings and other rapid movements. With the Windjammer fitted, the Baseball can also be used outdoors in light winds.
