Underwater housing for Sound Devices 7-series recorder

The Ambient Recording SD-UW Underwater Housing for Sound Recorder is made out of hard, anodized, seawater-resistant aluminum and thereafter coated with PTFE, coated which gives it high durability and stability.

Main Benefits:

2 handles for perfect balance slightly negative buoyancy
5 M8 threads for hydrophones, lights, or cameras
Plexiglass cover for perfect meter and display overview

Overview

With a cover made out of 1.57” (4 cm) thick Plexiglass, it offers a perfect sight on all meters and displays of the recorder. All 7 series Sound Devices are attached within seconds thanks to a flexible mount. Up to 8 waterproof, underwater connectors allow you to record with most sophisticated surround techniques.

Two handles offer optimal usability underwater even with the RS2 and RS5 surround rigs, also thanks to slightly negative buoyancy, which can be easily adjusted depending on whatever you like to attach to your housing. With its static design, this housing is waterproof up to a depth of 262.46’ (80 m) or even 328.08’ (100 m) with electronic remote.

This underwater housing was made to carry a complete sound system and can be easily enlarged to a video, sound, and light system, thanks to 5 threads on the housing and handles.

Hard-anodized and PTFE coated for roughest production conditions

The housing is made out of hard-anodized, seawater-resistant aluminum, afterwhich it is PTFE coated to provide the highest possible durability and stability.
The machined cover, manufactured with the same seawater-resistant coatings, offers a perfect visibility of all recorder’s meters and displays thanks to a rugged polycarbonate window.

Clear visibility of meters, gain and displays thanks to a polycarbonate window

Thanks to a mechanical remote, the diver has full access to gain, record, and stop, as well as power functions.
